Configuring MPLS Using OSPF

Console Based :

Description: In this example network is configured with OSPF as routing protocol. Then run MPLS over the IP network.

Instructions:

1. Assign the IP addresses to all the devices

2. Enable MPLS family on the interfaces

3. Enable MPLS and LDP protocol on the interfaces

4. Enable OSPF (use area number as 100) on all the interfaces of all the devices

5.Issue ping and trace route command to check the connectivity

GUI Based :

Instructions:

1. Select device R1 and click configure button and select Interfaces > Interface Configuration from left navigation pane , and assign ip address to ge-0/0/0 interface as per the table

2. To add MPLS features select MPLS > MPLS Configuration from left navigation pane

3. In MPLS configuration screen select ge-0/0/0 interface from Enable MPLS family on the interface drop down and click Add button. 

4. Click select interface option buttons from Enable MPLS protocol on the interface and Enable LDP protocol on the interface and select ge-0/0/0 interface from select interface drop down and click OK button.

5 To enable OSPF protocol on the interface select Routing > OSPF from left navigation pane

6. In OSPF configuration screen enter area id 100 and select ge-0/0/0 interface and click Add button and then click OK button.

7. Select device R2 and click configure button and select Interfaces > Interface Configuration from left navigation pane and assign IP addresses to ge-0/0/0 and ge-0/0/1 interfaces of R2 as per the table 

8. To add MPLS features select MPLS > MPLS Configuration from left navigation pane 

9. Repeat step 3 to enable MPLS family on the interfaces ge-0/0/0 and ge-0/0/1.

10. Select option buttons All from Enable MPLS protocol on interface and Enable LDP protocol on the interface and click OK button
